At first I thought this was Gridion Gang, a movie about a backwater gang out in the swamps, either that or some bad horror movie. I’m greeted to an opening similar to a documentary, juveniles in detention centers, paying the price for killing another or getting into too many fights. Their lives are pretty much history unless they can be turned around. The cameo begins, the Rock enters the screen and my interest is held. I remember this guy was quite famous, not just as a wrestler, but as a celebrity, when I was in my late teenage years. He definitely has a power to his style of speaking.
Scene switch to what got these people here in the first place, a gang shootout. I suddenly started to lose interest. I looked up some reviews, someone called it another football movie. I do some quick flash forwarding and I see these gang members suddenly putting on football uniforms. These kinds of movies are normally about a coach bringing the full potential out of a group, turning their lives, around and projecting a positive image, all through the power of football.
These kinds of movies don’t do anything for me, especially when this one takes the form of a documentary. Some people like it, some don’t. This is a hit or a miss.
