It starts out as a bunch of friends staying over for a sleepover. The local stud is ready to get laid with his girlfriend, when suddenly she is ripped up from the bed, and pressed against the ceiling. Claw marks appear all over her, and she is thrown all over in the air. The stud is dumbfounded as to what’s going on. As so thus begin’s Freddy’s reign of terror. The local police think the stud caused it, but they are oh so wrong. As Nancy, the friend of the victim slowly realizes. Whenever she goes to sleep, Freddy is sure to come knocking. Nancy is left traumatized and does everything in her power to stay awake. Slowly Freddy picks of her friends one by one as he circles her. The night comes when he goes to seek her out. Wes Craven made the first move and later sold the rights to it. This movie is the best in the series, and to quote the first scream movie, “The first one was good, the others sucked.” This is the common teen thriller movie, very popular in the 80s and is almost the first one people think of. Freddy is the man with a burnt face, red and black stripped turtle neck, and he has the trademark hat and knives glove. He was killed off for getting off free of pedophile charges nearly thirty years ago, and he’s somehow come back. He normally haunts the dreamworld and can be ripped into the real world if you hold him while you wake up. Or can he? The end of the movie shows otherwise. Nightmare on Elm Street is very good in the beginning, and will hold your interest. But it starts to get boring towards the end. Definitely give this one a look. Yozuki’s Drive - 8 |
