Jaws

This is an oldy, but goodie. You’ll see the hippies running amok, as well as the older style cameras and script writing. This movie was truly moving.

It moved most of the country out of coastal waters for two years while the movie was circulating the country.

A shark attack on local island town Animity around the end of June, has the local townspeople worried. This town is carefree and happy, without much crime in the last few years, and they’re looking forward to the July 4th season as tourists come in. The local fishermen have caught what they think is the real culprit and they are horribly wrong.

The real culprit is Jaws, a massive 25 footer Great White. He’s big, and he’s a maneater. He has claimed his territory on the coast of California. The local sheriff won’t have it and he has hired the help of a shark expert to help field his mission. The mayor decides the shark has been caught, and will open the beaches once again, to the disdain of the sheriff and shark expert.

Jaws strikes again and everyone is out of the water. A local shark catcher from before, whom offered his services, is now hired and the trio are off to bag themselves a great white.

For the time, this movie had spectacular special effects. None of them are CGed, (or so it looks). The giant Great White is actually a robotic shark and it looks as if it could kill. The ship captain remarks on the lifeless eyes of the shark, and you can feel it as the shark thrusts his giant nose towards the camera. Truly freaky.

This movie has a quick build up of the scenario, then it slows down as our heroes head out to sea, and then it just starts to keep going wave after wave.

Give Jaws a look, it’s a classic and has gained fame and infamy.
